Ondekoza - Kyoten DochiUnder the title "Heaven Roars and Earth Moves" (Kyoten Dochi) Ondekoza have recorded eight new tracks that combine the traditional style of former Ondekoza-albums with new approaches.

On the track "Kyoten Dochi" you hear taiko-drumming in dialogue with a shrill saxophone. "Taketorihime" is a wonderful arrangement for Japanese shamisen-lute, voice, shakuhachi-flute and percussion, and even the evergreen "Amazing Grace" has been newly adapted for the song "Inori-Odaiko" with an arrangement for shakuhachi and taiko-drums. The final track is a meeting of east and west combining the shakuhachi-flute with a classical western cembalo.

In the liner-notes the wellknown New-Age-Musician Kitaro describes "Kyoten Dochi" as "a work of art that can revive Japanese souls as well as those living in the chaotic contemporary society".

Running, beating and dancing on the earth. The Ondekoza challenge still continues for the 21st century.
